The EMSI training that you are about to undergo is a comprehensive training course which covers the various components of the RTI Health Solutions ATTEMPT Protocol.

The primary objectives of ATTEMPT are research objectives and include the following:

  • To describe the natural course of successive attempts to stop smoking and the associated short-term (i.e., occurring during the observation period) health and economic outcomes. This will be done by describing the number, frequency, and duration of successive quit attempts, and associated factors and resources used during these quit attempts.

  • To explore the influence of weight on the natural course of successive attempts to stop smoking and the associated short-term health and economic outcomes.
The study consists of 2000 participants in the US, UK, Canada, and France. The in-home weight assessments serve to measure actual weight versus self-reported rate in a subpopulation of the study.
The EMSI certification program requires you complete the following steps:
An On-line Training Guide which covers the various components of the ATTEMPT Protocol.
Upon completion of the Course and Examination, you will receive a Certificate of Achievement.
