| TheAcademy.com has been approved as an Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), 1760 Old Meadow Road, Suite 500, McLean, VA 22102.
This is a significant recognition for TheAcademy.com and for the organizations whose training courses are produced and delivered by them. It means that beginning immediately, all students that successfully complete a training course produced by TheAcademy.com will be awarded full or partial IACET Continuing Education Units (CEU). The IACET CEU was created as a measurement of quality continuing education. One IACET CEU is equal to ten hours of participation in an organized continuing education experience under responsible sponsorship, capable direction, and qualified instruction. TheAcademy.com is one of a limited number of on-line training providers to receive approval as an Authorized Provider. The company offers continuing education courses for many industries, associations and corporations. It also offers general continuing education courses for students in all fields of endeavor. Students who successfully complete a TheAcademy.com course will receive a full or partial IACET CEU, and will receive an appropriate certificate. This certificate will verify the students' successful efforts to improve their skills and increase their knowledge through quality continuing education. In the approval process, IACET thoroughly reviewed both the actual on-line courses and the methodology with which TheAcademy.com designs and produces them. IACET determined that TheAcademy.com meets all the criteria necessary to become an Authorized Provider. The criteria are based upon educational research and have stood the test of time. They include: a conducive learning environment for students, needs identification, course planning, content and instructional methods, assessment of learning outcomes, and course evaluation. Because of these comprehensive and strict criteria, the IACET CEU has evolved from a quantitative measure to a hallmark of quality training and instruction. IACET is a non-profit association dedicated to quality continuing education and training programs. IACET's Criteria and Guidelines are the core of thousands of educational programs worldwide. Located in McLean, VA, IACET grew out of a National Task Force on continuing education commissioned by the Bureau of Education (now the Department of Education) in 1968. The task force included the leaders in continuing education, such as the American Medical Association and American Nursing Association. The IACET Task Force determined the universal guidelines for continuing education and created the Continuing Education Unit (CEU). IACET was created by the task force to provide both a forum for discussion of education standards and an organizational body to promote quality standards. IACET's guidelines are based upon in-depth research on the learning process. IACET certifies only education providers that meet these strict continuing education guidelines. Other IACET Authorized Providers include:
