| The EMSI collector training that you are about to undergo is a comprehensive course, which covers both mandated and non-mandated collections. Successful completion of this training program will qualify you to perform Department of Transportation (DOT) urine specimen collections. | |
| The EMSI certification program requires you complete the following steps: | |
| An On-line Training Course to introduce you and/or refresh your knowledge of the Federal rules and guidelines for specimen collection. | |
| An Examination to measure your understanding of the material that is presented in this course. This exam will be graded and requires a successful completion rate of 90% or better grade to pass. | |
| Proficiency Demonstrations to display your ability to complete specimen collections based on the training and examination material you will be completing. This will include Mock Collections, which are required to be observed by an EMSI designated trainer within your office. | |
| Upon successful completion of the Training, Examination and Proficiency Demonstrations, you will receive a Certificate of Achievement as a Certified Urine Specimen Collection Technician and will be granted status to perform specimen collections on behalf of EMSI. | |
